Babar Azam is a well-known Pakistani cricketer who plays for Pakistan’s Cricket team under all formats i.e. test, ODI and T20. He played for the U19 team and Aside prior to upgrading his path for international cricket. Presently, Babar Azam is ranked 1st number among the top 100 ODI players. Babar Azam has a massive number of followers on social media accounts in millions. He earned the record of scoring maximum runs after the first 25 ODI matches. He also earned the reward of making 1000 runs in the first 26 innings by breaking the record of Virat Kohli for 27 innings.
His full name is Mohammad Babar Azam. He was born on 15 October 1994. His attraction to cricket was made by his cousin Kamran Akamal and Umer Akmal. His current age is 28 years.
Babar Azam’s Career Journey
At the start, Azam played for Zarai Taraqiati Bank LTD for three years 2010 to 2013. Then he was playing for Islamabad Leopards Squad for three years from 2012 to 2015. He made his first appearance in an International match on 31st May 2015 in the third ODI match against Zimbabwe. He scored excellent runs of 54 in 60 balls. He could not get a chance to play in the test series due to his bad performance against Sri Lanka, as he scored only 37 runs 9n two matches.
He was the fastest batsman that hit the score of 3000 against New Zealand in a one-day international match on 29th June 2019.
As we are going to discuss the PSL career of Azam, he was selected in the Islamabad United team squad for US$25000 for the first PSL session in 2017. In the second session, he was picked by Karachi kings for US$50000. He was the second lead runs hitter in the tournament behind his cousin Kamran Akmal scoring 292. In the third session of PSL, he was selected in the diamond category.
Babar Azam has been the captain of the Pakistan team from 2019 to 2022. He played 41 matches during his captainship, in which he won 26 matches and lose 10 matches.
